Listen
To Music on Your Computer
In order to "listen" to music, Banshee has to know what is available to listen to. You will need to point it at some files or whole folders of files where it will grab and catalog it all for you. To do this:
- Click Menu
- Click Import Folder
- Select the appropriate folder
- Click Open
- Watch Banshee fill with audible goodness
To Music on a Neighbor's Computer
This requires the Music Sharing plugin.
Listen to Internet Radio
Just Listen
Starting in the 0.11.x series, you can listen to internet radio stations. Just enable the "Radio" plugin in the Plugins dialog box, and you will get access to internet radio. One of the coolest parts is that Banshee automatically fetches a list of common internet radio stations maintained on banshee-project.org. So, even if you don't know any good stations, you can always find a new one! Just enable the plugin, and you'll be listening to new music in no time.
Add Your Own Stations
Beginning with Banshee 0.11.6, you can also add your own custom stations.
- Simply right click on the Radio source, and choose Add Station
- Enter the stream details in the dialog, and click Save.
Sit back, and enjoy.
